Jeep Road. The first 1.5 miles of the hike is on this old jeep road.
At the end of the old jeep road the trail runs into Ramsay Prong of the Little Pigeon River
After the easy 1.5 mile stretch of the hike on the old jeep road the trail becomes strenuous for the next 2.5 miles.
With all the cover from the trees and plants it seems as though one has entered an “Enchanted Forest” or maybe even the “Fire Swamp.”
At just past 2 miles the trail crosses Ramsay’s Prong on the first of two log bridges.
At 2.5 miles the trail brings you to some very large trees. This is one of the park's few sections that was not clear-cut by lumber companies in the early 1900s.
Just before the trail reaches 3 miles the trail crosses Ramsay’s Prong on the second log bridge.
At 3.7 miles or so there is a small unmarked trail to the right that leads to this small cascade.
